Bangkok Makkasan Photo Gallery

With only enough baht for transport and nothing else, Makkasan was the furthest I could go from the airport during my brief stopover en route to Europe. This is not a touristy part of town, but offers interesting street scenes portraying Bangkok's organized chaos.

Boats are still an important mode of transport even deep inland from the main river.

Many little shrines honouring the king sit next to modern office towers and in the most humble tiny open spaces.

After a while, I reached the elevated train line and Terminal 21 - see more of this area in my Modern Bangkok gallery.
