Located in the northern plains, Beijing is China's capital city. Historic records and archeological findings show that the city dates back more than 3,000 years. It was the capital of 5 feudal dynasties : the Liao (907-1125), Jin (1115-1234), Yuan (1271-1368), Ming (1368-1644), and Qing (1644-1911). Many Beijing attractions such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, the Peking Man site at Zhoukoudian, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace are UNESCO World Heritage sites.Being such a historical city, you need a week to see the city and its surroundings.
