North Point is an old residential neighborhood on the north shores of Hong Kong Island.
Stretching along a narrow strip of land along the waterfront, parts of the district
are being torn down to make way for new development. Meanwhile, the hillsides rising behind
this area is home to many higher-class residential towers with harbour and skyline views
(Fortress Hill).
These wet markets are the traditional place to shop for groceries.
The new Customs Headquarters Building is 32 stories tall and will centralize their facilities with a detention centre, firing range, exhibition gallery, and customer service centre.
There are an increasing number of commercial developments especially near the tram line and waterfront.
