Central Plaza

Completed in 1992, Central Plaza was Hong Kong's tallest building under 2 IFC was topped out in 2003. The 78-storey skyscraper is angled in such a way to maximize office space with ocean views. 1000 separate neon transformers totally 6000 m create a glittering image on the facade. A lighting system atop the spire indicates the quarter and hour at night.

Here are photos of the Central skyline from outside the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre Extension in Wanchai. The curved structure is built on reclaimed land for the 1997 Handover ceremonies, and points to the north towards China.
