Kanazawa Photo Gallery

The Shinkansen has just expanded to Kanazawa, with the fastest trains taking only 2.5 hours to Tokyo. The main railway station has been renovated to celebrate this new service.

Kanazawa Castle was first established in the late 16th century. It endured a number of fires and reconstructions since then.

Across from the castle is Kenrokuen, one of the 3 most beautiful gardens in Japan. It opened to the public in 1874 and is a great place to admire the autumn foliage.

Language barriers are not an issue when you can point and order.

The streets are primarily made of lowrises, so it doesn't feel dense or crowded at all.

There are plenty of neighbourhood vending machines to quench your thirst.

Nagamachi is the historic samurai district. Enter this restored pharmacy to get a glimpse of life during the feudal period. This building was built in 1878 and was renovated in 1919.

Enjoy the neighbourhood, too.
