Rua da Praia do Manduco

Heading downhill from the luxury residence, I made a lunch detour onto this market street, full of shops and street vendors.

After recharging, I returned uphill and ascended towards Barra Hill, a prominent lookout point on the southwest part of the peninsula.

A surprise lookout point from the street. Zhuhai lies across the river.

Miradouro da Penha

Actually, there was a real lookout point just steps above where I was before, and there is a wider view.

Ermida da Penha

The church is perched on top of a hill with a panoramic view of Macau's east and south sides.

It was not a long descent towards the coastline for the next attraction.

Templo de A-Ma

The temple is dedicated to many deities and includes a mix of Confucianist, Taoist, and Buddhist influences.

The Zhuhai side seems so empty while over in Macau, the city bustles.

The temple is located in the southwestern part of the peninsula, bordering the coastline facing China on the other side.

Quartel dos Mouros

A very interesting piece of architecture in Portuguese Macau, this building was built in 1874 for the Indian regiment of the local police force. It is now used by the Macau Maritime Administration.
