 Located 28.5 km northeast of Munich's city centre, the airport is 1500 hectares in size with 2 parallel runways of 4000 metres each. Terminal 2 opened in June 2003 with a capacity of over 20 million passengers a year. Munich Airport serves 104 airlines that fly to 223 destinations in 63 countries.
