Introduction

Gangnam, which means 'south of the river', is a relatively newly urbanized part of Seoul. It consists of 15 legal districts and 26 administrative districts over 39.54 square kilometers bordered by the Hang River to the north, Seongnam City and Gyeonggi Province to the south, Songpa along the Tancheon Stream to the east, and Seocho to the west.
