Introduction Although Shanghai has a long history, the city's face has changed dramatically in the past decade. Even photos from a couple of years ago already have become outdated. These photos from 2005 and 2006 are already a historic record of Shanghai's glorious rise.
2005
The Peace Hotel was still managed locally and affordable.
The skyline was noticeably empty.
Change was already in the air in 2006. SWFC was under construction behind Jin Mao.
As part of the Bund's beautification, this flyover that emptied right next to the waterfront has been dismantled.
