Cheorwon
|
|
Cheorwon is located in the northern section of South Korea near the DMZ and North
Korean border. Much of this region is a restricted zone due to its location, with
many remains of painful memories of the Korean War in the form of underground tunnels.

Woljeong-ri Station
|
|
Adjacent to The Iron Triangle Observation Platform, this is the closest railway station
to the Demilitarized Zone on the South Korean side. Behind the station in these photos
lie the remains of a train which was destroyed during the Korean War and has

Baekma (White Horse) Hill
|
|
The Baekma Hill was the most bloody battlefield, where its winner got switched 24 times
with 300,000 cannon balls from the Chinese Army in a 10-day offensive during the Korean War.
The hill has been called Backma (white horse) since the Hill lost its original shape
and looked like a lied-down horse due to severe artillery fire. To honor the soldiers
of the 9th division of ROK Army, who lost their lives in the battle to defend the Hill
to the last minute during the Korean War, the monument was erected at Dongsong-up in
Chulwon-kun.
