Beijing Photo Gallery - Central Radio and TV Tower

A bit of a walk from the nearest metro station, Gongzhufen (Lines 1, 10), the Central Radio and TV Tower dates from the late 1980s and rises 405m tall. It is used to transmit radio and TV signals with an open-air observation deck.Perhaps it is a bit out of the way and not well advertised, but there were barely any other tourists despite fairly decent views.
Looking east, the skyscrapers around Guomao are in the distance with the orange roofs of the Forbidden City in front. It's not easy to find a high vantage point to see the city given many of the taller buildings are far out and away from the historic centre.
The tower is located on the 3rd ring road, with residential suburbs extending as far as the eye can see in all directions.
The outdoor deck is exposed to the elements and the winds were very strong that day, prompting me to go back into the protected deck instead. Despite the fence, the holes are big enough to take some proper photos.
