Chiang Mai Photo Gallery - Temples Outside the Historic Centre

As you descend from Doi Suthep, stop by Wat Pha Lat, which is somewhat hidden from the main road although it is only a short walk downhill from it. The temple complex is small.

Back downhill but still outside the city, Wat U Mong has its chedi rise above a brick platform with passageways inside. This temple dates from the late 14th century and is well worth a look.

Wat Suan Dok was a monastery with many white chedi built to honour the Lanna royal family.
