Cinque Terre Photo Gallery - Monterosso

Monterosso seemed the least Old World and historic of them all. It is a surprisingly big town with a population of 1700, and was the last on my itinerary to visit as it was at the western edge. A touristy beach greets passengers leaving the train station, and it felt more like a resort than a fishing town. Here you can see the other 4 towns along the coast that I have passed.

I didn't have time to hike over from Vernazza so took the train over. However, I walked slightly out of town to see the fortifications and coastline.
