Having heard of the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos where the rich and the powerful meet to discuss how they can continue to enslave the rest of the world, I expected this town to be a glitzy and ritzy playground. Davos was a health and wellness destination already in the 1860s for tuberculosis patients to recuperate amidst sunshine and fresh mountain air. It further developed into a winter sports wonderland in the 1930s, which continues to this day. 2 major railway stations serve the town, and the journey from Zurich takes less than 2.5 hours.
