Doha Port Photo Gallery - Mina District

The Doha Port area today is a nice place for a walk. Just steps from the city centre, there is plenty of parkland and waterfront promenade where you can enjoy views of the skyline and yachts. Along the way, there are a few purpose-made attractions to entice you to stay.

I came early in the morning during Ramadan before it got too hot. This area barely has any shade and even during March, it can get quite warm during the day. With the city's shops and restaurants shut during the daytime, there wasn't much to browse within the buildings but plenty of views outside to enjoy.

To the east of Box Park, Mina District is a colourful neighbourhood with pedestrianized streets set against pastel-coloured buildings. This is a redevelopment of the old port into a new cruise terminal and fish market.

At the northern end of the district, the views open up again and you have the skyline in front of you once more, this time slightly closer than Box Park.
