From West Bay's beginnings as the new diplomatic quarter with the Sheraton anchoring the skyline in the early 1980s, the district has come a long way. Welcome to modern Qatar. The streets are quiet with barely any other pedestrians, but there are wide sidewalks so it is possible to do a walking tour to admire the architecture. Just be careful when crossing the wide avenues.

While West Bay is surrounded by the sea on 3 sides, a long section of the northern and eastern coastlines are privatized and not easily accessible by the public. I was only able to squeeze in between buildings for a glance of the sea.
