Dusseldorf Photo Gallery - Rheinturm

Rheinturm stands 240.5m tall and was completed in 1982. With few big skyscrapers in the city, the view from its observation deck is wide and spectacular, and well worth the early bird price of 9 euros before noon.

There is also an expensive Japanese fusion restaurant up here that revolves, but I wasn't particularly interested because there are plenty more cheaper options in Little Tokyo.

I would suggest combining this with a walk towards the old town along the riverfront promenade.

Looking north towards the old town :

Looking south towards Medienhafen, a redeveloped area with modern architecture :

Looking west to more residential areas and a busy Rhine heading towards Cologne :

Looking east towards the train station :

The observation level is a big bar with many tables and chairs along the windows. You can grab a bite and enjoy it here or have a seat to savour the view. The elevator shows how many metres you are at instead of the floor count.
