Granada Photo Gallery - Town Centre Part 1

I arrived in Granada in the late afternoon from Cordoba and with sunset well into the evening, I spent the remainder of my first day exploring the town centre. Although this place is famous for the Alhambra, don't overlook the town's key sights.

Construction of Granada's cathedral began in 1521 and it wasn't finished until the 18th century. The massive structure joins with the neighbouring Capilla Real, where Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand II are buried.

Typical of smaller historic cities in Europe, do wander around the streets to enjoy the atmosphere and find some surprises.

The Basilica de las Angustias commemmorates the patron saint of Granada.
