With Badaling flooded by tourists, I opted for a more serene and less crowded walk at this section of wall further away. Transport options dwindle with the distance, so it was a comfortable 5-hour walk through many watch towers on this sunny, but slightly smoggy, day. The greatest joy came at the end, where the wall has not been restored and remains in a semi-ruinous state.
