This exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of History showcases items from Emperor Qin Shihuang's terra cotta army as well as from the Han emperor.During the Qin and Han dynasties, Confucianism was adopted as the political ideology, which led to major developments in the economy, arts, and technology.
The Han dynasty's economy was dominated by agriculture. Manors evolved with specialized animal husbandry, handicraft, brewing, and more. Farmng tools and techniques improved, enhancing yields.
This bronze chariot is a replica from Qin Shihuang's tomb.
Hong Kong was incorporated into the Qin Dynasty around 214 BC as part of the Nanhai district. However, the area split off into the Nanyue Kingdom by the later part of the dynasty, only to be destroyed by Han Emperor Wu in 111 BC. Archaeological evidence from the Han period have been discovered in Hong Kong, mostly in the coastal areas.
