While today, we use social media to check in, create posts, and document our existence regularly, On Kawara used his unique artistic language to mark 5 decades of work with his date paintings, postcards, and more to mark his time and existence.
The date paintings started in 1966 with simple tools to mark his presence.

You will see maps of his whereabouts, postcards, telegrams, and more. He was a traveller, visiting Hong Kong in 1978 for his 46th birthday. He maintained a daily ritual of creating date paintings and recorded his encounters.
