Connaught Centre was the city's first skyscraper when it opened in 1973. Standing 178.5m tall, it was Hong Kong's tallest building until 1980. Designed by Palmer and Turner, the iconic building is famous for its 1748 circular windows and had Asia's fastest lifts at the time. Renamed Jardine House in 1989 after venerable conglomerate Jardine Matheson, it celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023 with a series of events from talks and exhibitions to guided tours.
Out on display for their 50th anniversary celebrations are historic documents such as floor plans.
