With vibrant street markets selling electronics, toys, cloth, and groceries, as well as a growing cafe scene, Sham Shui Po is actually among the city's poorest districts, where many live in subdivided flats carved out of dilapidated buildings. While there are pockets of redevelopment, much of the district still comprises of older lowrise buildings.A number of new redevelopments line the West Kowloon Corridor highway, boasting harbour views in the distance. The Seaside Sonata project consists of 4 towers of 29, 35, and 37 stories.
