A short hike up from Tai Wo station is She Shan, which offers great views of Tai Po, Tolo Harbour all the way to Ma On Shan, and the lowrise villages beneath Tai Mo Shan. While the mountain isn't too high up and is a bit more distant from the urban centre as the Cloudy Hill hike, the contrast between the concrete jungle and nature is quite startling.

On the other side of town and up Cloudy Hill is the small and partially abandoned village of Cheung Uk. This area was settled by the Hakka Cheung clan some 300 years ago. By 1960, its population was only 260 and with agriculture's decline and villagers moving to the city or overseas, only a small elderly population remained by the mid-70s.
