Hong Kong Drone Gallery - Anderson Road Quarry 2024

Located along the hillsides behind Kwun Tong's concrete jungle, the former quarry at Anderson Road is under redevelopment into a residential area. The quarry had operated for over 50 years from the 1960s, providing some 100 million tonnes of rocks for major infrastructure projects such as Kai Tak Airport, Cross Harbour Tunnel, and high-speed rail link. Spanning 86 hectares, the quarry site returned to government ownership in 2017 and is expected to be house some 25,000 residents. December 2024 July 2024 March 2024 January 2024
