The 75-hectare Tseung Kwan O Industrial Estate is located south of LOHAS Park and has been rebranded with a new high-tech focus. Now dubbed InnoPArk, it aims to attract data technology and advanced manufacturing firms, although the area currently houses various industries, including local media firms TVB and Sing Tao.
The government plans to house over 135,000 residents in a 101 hectare piece of land next to the landfill, dubbed Area 137, with 70% in public housing flats. As part of the development, some land reclamation is needed from the sea, with the first 34,000 residents moving in by 2030, and an MTR extension expected. This new highrise area will see its public housing towers rise between 180-200m while private housing towers will be slightly shorter, ranging between 120-175m.
