Eating Well in Hong Kong - Gaddi's

Located inside the famed Peninsula Hotel, Gaddi's serves French cuisine, fine dining style with one Michelin star. The atmosphere is quiet and service was impeccable. The standard lunch menu lets you choose between 3 or 4 courses with optional wine pairing. The 3 course sets you back $688 and the additional course would cost just $100 more.

We were served a variety of breads, such as this bacon-flavoured one and the sourdough. The butter is made in-house as well.

The amuse-bouche was a raw fish in a very light yogurt.

This appetizer course consists of Corsican seabass in escabeche dressing, radishes, and pomegranate.

The veal and foie gras pate en croute has figs, pistachios, and lemon balm to accompany.

The lobster bisque requires a $188 supplement and includes Hennessy VSOP cognac.

For the main, I chose the charcoal grilled Anjou quail, which has corn, black trumpet mushrooms, and tarragon jus to accompany.

For dessert, I picked the Lorraine Mirabelle plum with a small dose of local honey ice cream.

The petit fours came in an afternoon tea-style holder.

The hotel is probably more famous for its lobby restaurant where you can soak in its history. However, it is much noisier because of the large space and the sounds bounce off the walls.
