Green Electric Double Deckers

KMB aims to run a fully electric fleet by 2050 and has started operating BYD electric double decker buses in July 2023. Each can carry 115 passengers and run up to 300km on a single charge. With 400 routes and some 4000 buses, KMB has a daunting task to achieve. The following photos were taken from around the city throughout 2024. KMB has also purchased electric double deckers from British firm Alexander Dennis, who has about 4500 buses operating in the city already and is the world's largest double decker bus manufacturer. Their first green bus (Enviro 500EV) went into service in May 2024, can carry 122 passengers, and run 305km after 2 hours of charging. You can check out my 2023 thread for more photos.
