Ma On Shan is a residential suburb with a 702m mountain looming in the background. Home to over 209,000 residents, the district stretches along the narrow piece of flat land along Tolo Harbour, offering decent waterfront views.
Since the new town runs in a linear fashion along the eastern side of Tolo Harbour, its sheer scale can be appreciated from the western side, such as the Science Park, Sam Mun Tsai, or even from a ferry ride to an outlying island in Mirs Bay.
Weekend ferries to popular excursion islands such as Tung Ping Chau, Tap Mun, and Kat O all pass through the area with these views.
