Mongkok Photo Gallery (Sai Yeung Choi Street South)

Sai Yeung Choi Street South was pedestrianized in 2000 to boost the shopping experience in the area. The zone was taken over by street performers in recent years, whose loudspeakers and noise late into the night have caused much nuisance to local residents. The government decided in 2013 to restrict pedestrianization to weekends and holidays only, then deciding to cancel the pedestrian scheme altogether after July 29, 2018.
Mongkok has a lot of street-level retail with various themes. There is a street with sneaker shops, another selling pets, and more.
