Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) came into existence in 1928 as the city's public broadcaster. It originally provided radio broadcasts and later expanded to television, now employing a staff of 800. The Heritage Museum celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2018 with an exhibition of its history and the development of Hong Kong's broadcasting developments.

Victoria Park has played host to the weekly current events debate show, City Forum, since 1980.
