Star Ferry Hung Hom Service Photo Gallery

Introduction

Star Ferry started operating Hung Hom services in April 1999. However, daily patronage has dropped 26% over the years from 7500 in 1999 to 5500 in 2010, resulting in losses since 2001. Services to Central and Wan Chai ended on 31 March 2011.

The Last Night - Central Pier

Wan Chai - Hung Hom

Quite unlike its Tsim Sha Tsui ferries, this service was quite deserted. It was not surprising they have been losing money all these years.

This service offers better views of the harbour than the Tsim Sha Tsui services, as it crosses the harbour diagnoally. It's also a considerably longer journey, providing many angles to photograph Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

Hung Hom's pier is steps from the Whampoa estate.
