Hong Kong Photo Gallery - Next Station: Telford

To celebrate Telford Plaza's 45 the anniversary, the MTR has hosted an exhibition about its history. This is the company's first property development, built in the early 1980s as an integrated model of shopping centre and residences above, all above the railway depot. The Kwun Tong Line first opened in 1979 from Shek Kip Mei to Kwun Tong, passing through this area. The first residents moved into Telford Gardens a year later, and the project would comprise 41 residential towers with about 5000 units. This type of integrated property development was repeated across many stations subsequently.
