Hong Kong Photo Gallery - Tuen Ma Line Phase 1

Formerly called the Shatin-Central Link, the Ma On Shan Line is being extended from Tai Wai to Admiralty. The 17km railway has been delayed by archaeological discoveries and a construction scandal. The first phase from Tai Wai to Kai Tak stations involves 3 stations and opened on February 14, 2020.

The Ma On Shan Line's terminus at Tai Wai has been reconfigured with new signage to point to the new extension.

From Tai Wai, it is only a short ride to Hin Keng, near another housing estate in Shatin.

With this sectional opening, passengers get a $1 discount.

After Hin Keng, the line takes a long tunnel to Diamond Hill in Kowloon. The interchange station was built under the former Ta Hom village, with a long pedestrian passage to the Kwun Tong Line concourse.

The final stop on this phased opening is Kai Tak.
