Hong Kong Photo Gallery - Tze Lo Lan Shan Path

While hikers seeking an adventure would ascend to the top of Violet Hill on the Wilson Trail, followed by the challenging Twin Peaks towards Stanley, there is a scenic but much easier alternative called the Tze Lo Lan Shan Path that skirts around the hill instead.

From Central, take Citybus #6 and get off a Wong Nai Chung Reservoir Park. There is a sectional fare discount so make sure you tap your Octopus card again when you get off through the front doors.

Head up the stairs in front of the bus stop / gas station and then turn left onto Tai Tam Reservoir Road. Go uphill and just before reaching the reservoir, look for a concrete path behind the Celestial Garden entrance. Tze Lo Lan Shan Path is mostly a shaded flat walk.

Across on the other side is Mount Nicholson, a far more challenging hike to see rock formations.

Aberdeen is in the distance behind the luxury houses that dot the south side's hills.

The views will open up here and there and there are long stretches above Repulse Bay with lovely beach and ocean views, although the path narrows considerably and only 1 person can pass at a time.

The path will intersect the much harder Wilson Trail and head downhill towards Tze Kong Bridge in Repulse Bay.

At the bridge, you can continue up the staircase along the Wilson Trail to conquer Twin Peaks and finish near Stanley. I opted to take the dirt path through fairly treacherous and steep terrain down to the Hong Kong International School to finish the hike in Repulse Bay just before sunset.
