Hong Kong - Beijing
KA 908
11 Jan 2009
Although it was a late morning departure, I still had to wake up early for this flight. Unfortunately, the winter smog was around, but at least it was sunny! Check-in was smooth and quick, and I proceeded to spot planes right away!

The gate was not so far away, and was off to the side. Typically I'd see Dragonair park there so it wasn't much of a surprise. We took off towards the east, which meant my window seat would have nice views of Kowloon and the New Territories!

We started making a few small turns just off Tsing Yi towards Kowloon, and Shatin came into full view.

We made a full northerly turn over Sai Kung, and Kowloon and Hong Kong Island were visible. Too bad there was haze though.

I expected another polluted day in Beijing once again, but hoped the descent would give me some views of the eastern part of Beijing. I wanted to spot the new skyscrapers around the Guomao area.

This is my first time at the new terminal, and it was quite big. There are a few satellite buildings as well and we had to take a train into the main building for immigration and baggage.

Unfortunately, it took a long time for the baggage to come out.
