London Photo Gallery - Aerials (Frankfurt - Heathrow)

The flight path into Heathrow from the east offers spectacular views from the City, past Westminster, and through the West End. These views were taken on a flight from Frankfurt during the early summer evening hour.

We entered London from the north. With a right window seat, I could see the Thames bend towards the West End, with some clouds just casting a shadow over the City.

Hyde Park and Regent's Park are just in the distance and we'll soon make a right turn (east) to line up to Heathrow approach.

The City's skyscrapers came into full view, with Canary Wharf on the other side of the plane.

Touristy Camden Market is just to the right of Regent's Park.

The area north of Paddington station (just above the engine) is getting quite built-up with tall buildings.

We flew south of Hyde Park but Westminster was hard to spot today with the engine and wing in the way.

Here is the eastern section of the park.

This is the posh area of Notting Hill with the Westfield mall on the top left.
