In 2017, developer Berkeley purchased the Northfields Industrial Estate site for redevelopment. Spanning 21 acres, it was given the project name Grand Union and launched in 2019.The new neighbourhood along the Grand Union Canal would have over 3000 homes, as well as 135,000 sq ft of workspace. Construction has started along the water's edge but they still have quite some way to go to fill up the site. The canal was once a vital shipping link between London and Birmingham until the railway age.
Next door, Guinness Homes also has built a few more blocks along the canal.
Across the canal, you face industrial buildings. This area is still fairly mixed use with pre-existing lowrises homes as well. It is a fairly long 10-minute walk to the nearest Tube station.
