The Queen's Terminal was originally the Europa Terminal that opened in 1955. It was designed by Frederick Gibberd who worked on the airport masterplan that included a central area of 3 terminals and the control tower. After Terminal 1 was commissioned, the building was renamed Terminal 2 in 1969.
Over the years, it hosted many famous passengers, including The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, and Princess Grace. In its last full year of operations, 2008, 7.5 million passengers passed through the terminal.
The building closed in 2009 for redevelopment and re-opened in 2014 as a Star Alliance hub.

Star Alliance has quite a lot of airlines in Europe so you get a good variety of liveries here from the Lufthansa group to more distant visitors such as Thai Airways and Air Canada.
