London Photo Gallery - Greenwich Peninsula's Waterfront Promenade

North Greenwich is an emerging residential district with the O2 at the tip of the peninsula. With the Thames looping around the area, bordering it on 3 sides, the waterfront promenade should be on every tourist's radar. Yet, this part of the Thames Path is relatively quiet.

The waterfront promenade is well executed with the west side facing Canary Wharf's skyline, and there is plenty of space for you to get front row seats to enjoy the view. However, the surroundings are fairly desolate with industrial buildings and a luxury hotel behind the fence.

The east side's promenade is a bit more hospitable with many new residential buildings fronting it, as well as pedestrian-friendly facilities such as benches, artworks, and some shelters along the way. There is also a ferry pier with Uber Boats running along the Thames from Putney to Barking. On the other side are more redevelopments along the north shore of the Thames.
