The Elizabeth Line's opening has spurred a lot of construction activity along its stations. Located in the northwestern suburbs in what is dubbed "Little India", Berkeley is embarking on a large regeneration project near Southall station in zone 4. It will include over 3700 new homes. The 88-acre site was previously gasworks from the 19th century until the late 1960s. Transformation began in 2016 that included soil decontamination and now construction of a new community of residentials and parks is under way. Prices for one-bedroom flats starts at just over 380,000 pounds. The eastern end of the site is still boarded up and it is a long walk along The Straight to the residential buildings that have been completed as of March 2025. The Elizabeth Line's trains run parallel to you. A few residential buildings have opened along the middle section of the site with landscaped gardens facing south towards the railroad tracks. This part is dubbed Parkside Yards. The western end of the site towards the Grand Union Canal is still undeveloped, although there is a walkway to the riverfront that is open from dawn to dusk.
