London Photo Gallery - Sugar House Island

Sugar House Island is a 26-acre regeneration project just south of the Olympics site that will transform former industrial areas into a new mixed use neighbourhood with about 1200 homes. This area has a long history, having already been mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086, which recorded 8 tidal mills in the Stratford area. Over the centuries, they produced flour and then gin and sugar.
