Even before summer drew to a close, the department stores were already organizing their Christmas shops so consumers can get well ahead of the season's festivities. Harrods' food hall has been transformed into a consumption paradise with lots of Christmas gift sets and speciality seasonal foods to entice you to spend. Already crowded on a normal day, it seemed even worse despite my mid-afternoon weekday visit.
