Nagoya Photo Gallery - Port Area

I got up early to head to the port area, a quiet and spacious part of the city. The subway ride is only about 20 minutes. My morning excursion would include visiting the Nagoya Port Building and Fuji Antarctic Museum.

The 63m Port Building is shaped after a ship with white sails, and offers a wide view of the city and the sea.

On the lower floors of the building, there is a maritime museum to learn about the port and its importance to the city.

Fuji was Japan's first icebreaker and was sent on a mission to the Antarctic for 18 years. The ship has been preserved as a museum.
