Fremantle Prison Photo Gallery - Part 1

Fremantle Prison was built by convict labour in the 1850s with local limestone. Designed to hold 1000 residents, the facility hosted enemy alien civilians during World War II, executed its last prisoner in 1964, and finally closed in 1991. The prison was inscribed onto the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2010 along with other convict sites across the country.

All visits are by accompanied and guides bring you through various different buildings to explore.
