Terminal 3 officially opened on December 25, 2025 after several weeks of trial operations. It features 8 new gates in its north (D) concourse, adding a capacity of 5.8 million passengers a year. Currently, passengers can access this area from Terminal 2 with the main Terminal 3 building and south concourse expected to open by 2027.
Terminal 3 is Taiwan's largest single public construction project since the 1970s. The master plan was approved in 2011 with the design chosen from an international competition in 2016 with that British firm RSHP won.
The whole project is expected to cost over TWD $100 billion (USD $3 billion).
