Taipei Photo Gallery - Treasure Hill

Taiwan Flag

Tucked along the hillside south of the city, Treasure Hill was founded in the 1940s by Nationalist Party soldiers who fled mainland China. They built a community with the minimal resources they could find and sustained themselves. Residents still live here today but many buildings have since been converted into artist studios and shops.

On display is a scale model of the narrow alleys and streets that make up this hillside town. The area is not very big but with so many interesting shops and buildings, you need at least an hour exploring just the surface.

Be sure to head to the riverfront for a wider view of the town and a nice huge grass lawn to relax and watch the sunset.
