Toronto Photo Gallery - Canadian National Exhibition

The Canadian National Exhibition was first held in 1879 during the late summer leading to the Labour Day holiday, providing entertainment and a venue to showcase the country's innovations. Its focus has changed from agriculture to a mixed carnival with shows, food, air show, and more.

From Princes Gate, a long line of food trucks offer all sorts of cuisines.

The buildings also host many stalls selling a large variety of goods and foods.

The CNE is famous for weird and querky foods that are not available anywhere else or are difficult to find. For example, there is a cheap spaghetti stall that uses Primo tomato sauce that you usually get in a can at the supermarket. Walking around in the food building yields many weird surprises.

Then there are various fried foods with the insides being unexpected pairings.

Returning outside, there are all sorts of carnival games to win a plush toy, and even a roulette-type game to gamble your cash.

Weird foods would involve using a well-known ingredient and doing something odd to it.

Farm animals are also on display to keep the kids entertained.

Adults can also enjoy some reproduced artworks from the AGO.
