Seafood City started off in California with their first store in 1989. They arrived in Canada in 2017 with a store in suburban Mississauga. They also have a 2nd store in the Greater Toronto Area in Scarborugh. The large store looks just like any other major mainstream supermarket but with a special inventory of Filipino favourites. Their food is influenced by its Asian neighbours as well as colonizers, giving an interesting fusion twist.
