Toronto Photo Gallery - Mississauga 2025

The City of Mississauga was created in 1974 with a population of 250,000 residents. In 2010, they released a Downtown21 Master Plan to build a high-density city centre to shake off its suburban bedroom community image. This has already been tried elsewhere in the Toronto area already, with North York successfully building its own downtown with plenty of residential skyscrapers and street-level retail.

Although Mississauga is still mostly lowrise houses, a distinct skyline is starting to emerge. As of the 2021 census, the city had a population of almost 718,000 people.

The Exchange District is a 4-tower residential development next to Square One with the tallest tower rising 72 stories. In 2021, the developer released a 10,000 square foot penthouse suite with an asking price of $15 million.

There is already an established community of condominiums on neighbouring streets with the Mississauga city centre being mostly a highrise neighbourhood of a few blocks.

Unveiled in 2014, M City is an 8-tower development across 15 acres with the tallest towers reaching 61 and 81 stories. The whole project will have more than 5000 new homes.

The first phases, M1 and M2, rise in a twisting form with a rooftop skating risk, a first for the Toronto area.

M3 now under construction will be the tallest tower with white and black banding in a zig zag pattern.

There isn't much visible for the other phases yet.
